If you are new to the film industry, more so in the field of acting, you should know that an audition is part of the whole process before you can book the acting job. Professional actors know that.

Hollywood icon Samuel L. Jackson advises actors, though, to get an audition stint not for the mere purpose of “looking for a job.”

Go inside the audition room with “your best self” and think that what you are about to do already signals a chance to act in front of an audience.

If you are attending an acting workshop or acting class, you must know that part of what you are doing there (inside the classroom) is an acting role or acting exercise with your fellow actors. Whether you book the role or not, the journey while inside the audition room teaches you one thing.

You have just taken yourself one step further.
