If you are new to the film industry, more so in the field of acting, you should know that an audition is part of the whole process before you can book the acting job. Professional actors know that.

Hollywood icon Samuel L. Jackson advises actors, though, to get an audition stint not for the mere purpose of “looking for a job.”

Go inside the audition room with “your best self” and think that what you are about to do already signals a chance to act in front of an audience.

If you are attending an acting workshop or acting class, you must know that part of what you are doing there (inside the classroom) is an acting role or acting exercise with your fellow actors. And that is in front of your acting teacher or acting coach, and sometimes, some outsiders, observing what is going on in the room.

In a way, they are the audience. And every time you get done with the acting part, you would feel a different kind of adrenaline. You did an acting task, after all.

That feeling could be that you get anxious, nervous even. But most importantly, there is that feeling of excitement. Think about that.
So, why not treat every audition as a chance to act in front of people? Instead of getting consumed with anxiety, with the thought, of purely landing the role, focus on the journey.

Many acting coaches and directors, and even many other actors believe it to be. That is why, they are called professional.

Not everyone gets the job. But at least, they enjoy the journey.

"Performing during an audition is an opportunity. Besides, not every actor gets to audition for that role.
Performing during an audition is an opportunity. Besides, not every actor gets to audition for that role. And you were called in to try it out. Who knows what excitement and joy could you experience while preparing and performing in an acting audition?

Putting that in your mind sets you in a better position. And you will have fun doing that.

Whether you book the role or not, the journey while inside the audition room teaches you one thing.

You have just taken yourself one step further.

Hollywood North Canada Insights: Living Stress-free? Anyone? Why Can People Be Critical?

In this article: "Hollywood North Canada Insights: Living Stress-free? Anyone? Why Can People Be Critical?" we explore some insights into why celebrities and Hollywood people work on their mental wellness amid their Hollywood status.

Hollywood North Canada Insights:
Living Stress-free? Anyone?
Why Can People Be Critical?

Some audiences, and, perhaps, some other kinds of spectators, could expect a lot from the people in the entertainment industry they admire.

One could see glamour, fame, and wealth. In other words, there is what we call power status.

And perhaps, there is fulfillment in their craft, given the nominations and awards they receive.
Many people continue to be attracted to this La-la land world.

At a glance, one would think, perhaps, celebrities and other people in the entertainment industry could be living stress-free. After all, they have most of the things that one could hope to achieve.

So, what could go wrong?

Well, for those who do not realize, there would always be detractors. Some critics could be the celebrities’ worst nightmares.
Those who can relate to the kind of environment entertainment people are in could agree that living stress-free is entirely not true.

Hence, many try hard in working on their mental wellness.

You see, working in Hollywood, and even in various forms of the digital media and entertainment industry is not free from hassles and troubles.
People can be critical of your work.

Many times, people may disagree with you.

People can always have something to say, regardless.

They can be judgmental without seeing the whole picture of what you have been through to accomplish that project.

Many actors, writers, directors, producers, filmmakers, models, singers, theatre performers, other celebrities, and even business executives face such challenges and criticisms.
Some can even suffer from mental anguish.

That can create a scar on their well-being.

And that mark could stay on, who knows, how long.

If only people, and critics at that, can know what's behind the face of the person.
The sad reality is - people can be ultra-critical of others.

People always can have something to say.

Sometimes, their preconceived idea is what triggers them to think and act in a certain way.

And that is out of anyone’s control.

All one could do is learn from one experience to another.

That is how people grow.

How Do You Set the Tone of Your Day in a Complicated World?

In this article: "Hollywood North Canada: How Do You Set the Tone of Your Day in a Complicated World?" we explore some thoughts on how one could start the day energized and relaxed amid a complicated world.

Girl Wakes Up to a Morning Sun
We all have our daily activities. And that could form part of complacency.

We can be satisfied by enjoying simple things.

Who does not want to look forward to spending a day in an uncomplicated world, right?
In other words, who does not want to simplify things?

We can just be accustomed to things that make our day. And why not?

The truth, however, is, we all live in a complex world. How does one thrive in such a reality?

You wake up each day. Perhaps you go to work or school. Or attend some workshops or meetups.

Then, at some point, you would find that spending the day can be redundant. Although at times, you can find excitement in the things that you do. Others can find their day exhausting after a hard day’s work.

Well, that, of course, would depend on what kind of activities you do.
Some of us could be going from one task to another. Others write most of the time.

That is in addition to working on some other stuff, doing projects.

We could go here and there.

There are times, we see opportunities at the least expected occasion.

Other times could just signal we should be in waiting mode.

And of course, there is family.

So, how does one find time to relax and de-stress?
One could guess the good thing about what people in the entertainment industry do is the fact that they are surrounded by things and activities in the world of media and various forms of entertainment.

That would include books, films, and music.

And one could find oneself as though they are in awe as they easily get entertained.

That can be somewhat incredible.

And apart from making them creative, they also get to experience fun.

How could that not be cool, right?

At the end of the day, one would feel relaxed. And energized.

Life can, after all, be vibrant.

We can paint colours on it.

The shade and palette that you would choose can help set the tone of your day.

We can decide on that. Choices can change.

The point is, we all make decisions.

How you want to spend your day is one of those.
